A Fly BVI plane made an emergency landing at Terrance B. Lettsome International Airport Tuesday evening, shutting down the facility. No one was hurt in the crash. Witnesses said between six and 10 people were on board the aircraft.

Witnesses said it appeared as though the plane's landing gear failed to come down.

"I saw the pilot circle a few times, burning off fuel, and then he brought the plane down on the grass," one witness said. "It skidded on its belly for about 150 yards, then five or six people got out. The pilot did a remarkable job."

ASSI, the company managing civil aviation matter for the government, brought in a maintenance inspector Wednesday morning to examine the plane. The investigation is still ongoing.
